Family Speaks Out On Weleetka Questioning |
Grand Jury Questions 5 In Weleetka KillingsMichael Gaddy said he had nothing to do with the shootings.
“Everybody’s got a gun, but not me and not my parents because we don’t believe in that,” said Gaddy.Gaddy was one of five people who testified before the grand jury in connection with the deaths of Taylor Paschal-Placker and Skyla Whitaker.Gaddy’s mother Glenda said investigators have questioned her son and her family has been harassed by strangers and neighbors ever since the girls' bodies were found. She said Michael’s mental disability made her worried about him testifying in front of a grand jury by himself.“We didn’t know if he’d understand everything he was asked or not,” she said. “Without having an attorney present, it was very scary.”Glenda Gaddy said the family has thought about hiring an attorney for Michael, but they can’t afford to do it right now.Prosecutors have filed no charges in connection with the girls’ deaths. Investigators have also not been able to track down the person of interest who resembles a sketch circulated in June. There is a $30,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.
