More than 2,000 delegates from all 50 states, plus six districts and territories, will meet in St. Paul to nominate U.S. Sen. John McCain as the Republican nominee for president of the United States.

Cornett and Coburn are believed to be the first Oklahoma-elected officials to address the Republican National Convention since then-U.S. Rep. J.C. Watts Jr. in 1996.

The date and time of the addresses is not yet available.

Cornett serves as president of Republican Mayors and Local Officials, a national organization representing Republican mayors. He has served as mayor of Oklahoma City since 2004.
