OKC Expo Showcases Latino Community

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Many Oklahoma City-area businesses took part in an event Saturday to reach out to a fast-growing group of Oklahomans.Thousands turned out to attend the 2008 Viva Oklahoma Hispanic Chamber Expo, an event organizers said was about more than just food and fun.“This is what economic development is about,” said organizer David Castillo. “We have over 185 booths here with companies showing their products and services to the Latino Community and to the community as a whole.”
Miss Oklahoma Globe and Miss Black Oklahoma were on hand for the event.This is the 7th year for the expo, which is hosted by the Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber.
