Jazz Match Offer For Miles

POSTED: 5:53 pm CDT July 25, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Utah Jazz exercised their right of first refusal on free agent guard C.J. Miles' contract, the team announced Friday.

The Jazz had seven days to match the multi-year offer sheet Miles signed with the new Oklahoma City franchise last week. Per club policy, terms of the offer sheet were not disclosed but the Oklahoman reported the deal was expected to start at more than the $1.2 million Miles would have received from Utah next season.

The former 34th-overall pick in 2005 is entering his fourth season in the league, having experienced increased playing time and a spike in production in each of his three years in Utah.

The 21-year-old averaged 5.0 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game while averaging 11.5 minutes per contest last season. He started 13 games while seeing time in 60 games overall.
