Mark Opgrande

Mark Opgrande joined the Eyewitness 5 news team in April 2004 as a general assignment report after spending the last three years as a TV journalist in the Oklahoma City market.

After graduating from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communications at Washington State University in 1994, Mark moved to Portland, Ore., and interned with KATU-TV.

His first real taste of television news came when he became an associate producer for Northwest Cable News in Seattle, Wash., in 1996. He has been hooked ever since.

Before moving to Oklahoma, Mark worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor in Kalispell, Mont., at KCFW-TV.

Mark says his interest in broadcasting started at an early age. In first grade, he carried a Mr. Microphone around his school until his teachers finally told him to put it away.

According to Mark, his proudest achievement -- beside marrying the "best girl in the world" -- was serving as the sports editor for his high school newspaper.
