John Flick
John Flick is co-anchor of Eyewitness News Five In The Morning.He came to the station in October of 2003 from KGW-TV in Portland, Ore., where he was a reporter and anchor. Prior to that he was a reporter at KWCH-TV in Wichita, Kan. He began his career as weekend anchor and reporter in Joplin, Mo.John earned numerous broadcasting awards in Kansas and two Emmy Award nominations in the Pacific Northwest. In 2008, he was made an honorary Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper for his reports on recruit training.
John's reporting has taken him across the country, covering wildfires and severe weather in Oregon, Idaho, Washington, California, Kansas and Oklahoma. He followed the Oklahoma Sooners football team as they went for national championships in New Orleans and Miami. He also covered the Heisman Trophy presentation in New York City.John was at the dedication of the Oklahoma City National Memorial in honor of bombing victims and survivors, and he covered the Pope's visit to St. Louis. John is also an adjunct professor at the University of Oklahoma, teaching a course in broadcast writing. In his spare time, John enjoys reading, movies and all kinds of sports.He's also a member of Team In Training, a group that runs races to raise money and awareness for leukemia and lymphoma. John earned his degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.
